Note From The Author

Creating this book has taken me on a journey of self-discovery while igniting a passion to help families. Representation matters in many forms, including breastfeeding. Black and Brown people breastfeed and that looks different for each family. It’s important to normalize the different types of breastfeeding journeys while sparking conversations with others that will allow breastfeeding to become more accepted in our society, and foster learning and growth for all.

This book is meant to inspire, encourage, and redefine how people of color are represented, especially in the eyes of future generations. I hope you and your family enjoy this book as much as I did creating it.

With Love,
Nasheeda

This author and illustrator saw a need and filled it. Representation is so important! I can now use this book as a tool to teach my children and others' children about the power of human milk in my practice as a lactation advocate. It is very easy to read and is full of information about the composition of human milk. I also love the illustrations and the attention to detail. Great book and great work!

Such a great book normalizing breastfeeding and talking about all the incredible things Mama’s milk can do! Also, love that the breast is all the way out when nursing instead of covered up. And the breast even has slight stretch marks in one photo! Yes! Normalize breastfeeding and all the beautiful aspects about it. 10/10!
